Inner Presence Coaching (IPC) has a dear place in my heart and it is a joy to be able to share it with others. From a young age, I had a deep fascination with psychology. I took numerous psychology courses, read self-help books, and attended talk therapy regularly for 8 years. Eventually, a naturopathic doctor/acupuncturist referred me to an Inner Presence Coach. This type of counseling was highly effective for me; one IPC session was the equivalent of one month or more of traditional therapy. After many sessions, I asked my coach how she learned IPC and signed up for the nine month training. I know how deep and profound this type of work is and no matter what you are going through, there is always a capacity to hold more love and light.
What is Inner Presence Coaching?
Inner Presence Coaching is a unique approach to counseling that uses mindfulness techniques for self connection. IPC weaves Western Parts Psychology and Eastern Buddhist principles to allow you to be fully present to whatever is arising. Parts Psychology is based on the idea that each person's psyche has many parts (examples include being grateful, a perfectionist, fearful, compassionate, angry, creative, sorrowful, joyful, wounded, and/or anxiety). These elements can become imbalanced or in conflict with one another, causing emotional distress that manifest into physical symptoms. In an IPC session, we tease apart each emotion, learn where you feel it in your body, when the element developed, what feelings/needs go along with each part, and what judgements or beliefs each emotion operates under. By allowing all of your parts to be present and creating a non-judgemental environment, transformation becomes an effortless process. I serve as a guide to connect you with yourself and teach you how to apply the work in your everyday life. I encourage my clients to take an active role in their healing and often give homework at the end of each session. My intention is to help my clients develop skills for connection and empower them to be their own life coach.
"Grief and love are sisters, woven together from the beginning. Their kinship reminds us that there is no love that does not contain loss and no loss that is not a reminder of the love we carry for what we once held close." -Francis Weller
